Saddle Making School – 3‑Week Course

This is a private, one‑on‑one course with master saddle maker Jack Smith. For three full weeks, you’ll work side‑by‑side in the saddle shop building a Western saddle of your choice. You’ll work through every stage—cutting leather, hand‑tooling, shaping, assembling, and fitting—using the same proven methods Jack has relied on for decades.

By the end, you’ll take home a one‑of‑a‑kind saddle you built yourself and the skills to tackle future projects with confidence.

Course Details

• Length: 3 weeks
• Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Location: NonPareil Ranch, 15 minutes outside Bakersfield, CA
• Included: All materials to build one saddle, plus use of all shop tools and equipment
• Accommodations: Hotels are just 15 minutes away in Bakersfield, or you can bring your own camp trailer and stay right on the ranch. Dry camping only—water available.
