Leathercrafting School – 1‑Week Course

This is a private, one‑on‑one week in the leather shop with Jack Smith. Whether you want to make chaps, belts, holsters, headstalls, purses—or even finish a saddle you’ve already started—you’ll have Jack’s full attention from start to finish.

You can focus on one large project or several smaller ones. Jack will guide you through each step, sharing tips and techniques refined over decades of working leather.

Course Details

• Length: 1 week (5 days)
• Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Location: NonPareil Ranch, 15 minutes outside Bakersfield, CA
• Included: All materials for your chosen projects, plus use of all shop tools and equipment
• Accommodations: Hotels are just 15 minutes away in Bakersfield, or you can bring your own camp trailer and stay right on the ranch. Dry camping only—water available.
