ABOUT THESE WORKSHOPS
These hands-on leatherworking workshops are for those who want to better understand leather, the tools used to work with it, and how well-made leather goods come together.
Workshops are led by saddle maker Jack Smith, who brings more than 30 years of knowledge to the workbench. Instruction is hands-on and clear, with each step broken down so you can follow along and build confidence as you go.
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
- Each workshop centers around a guided leather project selected when you register. You will become familiar with the leather, tools, and basic construction methods used for that particular project.
- All tools needed during the workshop will be provided for use in class.
- These are working sessions, and everyone works at a different pace. The focus stays on learning the process, understanding the tools, and doing the work yourself.
- The goal is to give you a solid understanding of how the project comes together so you can continue building on what you learned beyond the workshop.
WHO THIS IS FOR
These workshops are well suited for:
- Beginners with little or no leatherworking knowledge
- Those curious about learning how leather goods are made
- Anyone who enjoys small-group, hands-on instruction
- No experience necessary—just come with an imagination and a willingness to learn.
REGISTRATION & POLICIES
- Advance registration is required
- Space is limited to allow for hands-on instruction
- Full payment is required to reserve your seat
- All payments are non-refundable but may be transferred to another available class date
When a workshop fills, an additional date may be added when scheduling allows.
