Women Only -All Experience Levels welcome

Cowgirl Campouts

Join us at the NonPareil Ranch for a weekend made for women who love the western way of life—or want to learn more about it. Cowgirl Campouts are a welcoming space where you’ll connect with other like-minded women, enjoy great food, ranch riding at your own pace or with a group, and working ranch-style sessions designed to give you real experience and build your confidence. Evenings wind down with live music around a campfire (weather permitting) and Sunday morning kicks off with cowboy church before another full day of ranch fun. Whether you’re a seasoned cowgirl or just curious about the lifestyle, this unforgettable weekend will leave you inspired, empowered, and truly connected to the spirit of the West.

Men & Women Welcome

Cowhand Campouts

Unplug, saddle up, and enjoy time together the way it was meant to be—simple and real. Whether you're riding as a couple, camping with friends, or bringing the whole family, the NonPareil Ranch Campout invites you to slow down, get your hands dirty, and make memories that matter. It’s good work, good people, and a good fire (weather permitting) at the end of the day.

Campout FAQ's

What is the cancellation policy for the campout?

Reservation deposits are non-refundable within 30 days of the campout. Due to our small group sizes, cancellations have a significant impact on our ability to plan and accommodate guests. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to reach out as soon as possible if your plans change.

If we have to cancel due to weather, you’re welcome to transfer your registration to another available campout date. If none of the available dates work for your schedule, we will issue a refund.

Do I need to have a horse to attend a campout?

No, you don’t need a horse to have a great time! There’s plenty to do, from learning new skills to relaxing under the open sky and swapping stories around the campfire. Whether you’re riding or just here for the experience, you’ll be part of an unforgettable weekend!

Who can attend the campouts?

We offer two styles of campouts at NonPareil Ranch:

  • Cowgirl Campouts are for women only, ages 16 and up. These weekends are a welcoming space to ride, learn, and connect with like-minded cowgirls who share a love for the western lifestyle.
  • Cowhand Campouts are open to both men and women, also ages 16 and older. Perfect for couples, friends, and anyone ready to spend time outdoors, ride, work cattle, and enjoy the full ranch experience.

No matter which campout you choose, you’ll be part of a fun, down-to-earth community.

Where will my horse stay and what do I need to bring for them for the weekend?

You have a few options for keeping your horse comfortable during the campout:

  • Rent an outside pen for the weekend.
  • Tie to your trailer or bring your own portable panels
  • Use our highline if your horse is accustomed to it.

We provide alfalfa hay and water, but if your horse needs anything else, feel free to bring it along.

Spring nights can be chilly, so we recommend bringing a blanket (if your horse is used to being indoors) to keep your horse warm since they will be outside. If you have any questions or special needs, just let us know—we’re happy to help!

Can I bring an extra horse, and is there a fee?

Yes! Extra horses are welcome for an additional fee per horse. However, no mares with foals or stallions are allowed. All horses will need to be tied, kept in a personal pen, or in one of our rental pens. Let us know in advance if you're bringing an extra horse(s) so we can help accommodate your needs!

Are the campouts suitable for all riding skill levels?

Absolutely! Both our Cowgirl and Cowhand Campouts are designed to welcome riders of all experience levels—from first-timers to lifelong horsemen and women. Whether you're still learning the basics or looking to build on years of riding, we create a supportive, low-pressure environment where you can go at your own pace, gain confidence, and enjoy the experience. There’s something for everyone, no matter where you’re starting from.

Can I ride on my own instead of participating in scheduled activities?

Ff you'd rather skip the demonstrations and activities, feel free to explore our ranch on horseback at your own pace. With wide open trails and breathtaking views, it's the perfect chance to enjoy the freedom of riding and soaking in the beauty of our land.

Do the campouts happen rain or shine?

It all depends on Mother Nature! Sometimes forecasted storms pass through without much impact, and the roads into the ranch remain in good shape. Other times, the weather makes travel difficult. We’ll keep a close eye on conditions and do our best to notify you the day before if any changes need to be made. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities!

If we have to cancel due to weather, you’re welcome to transfer your registration to another available campout date. If none of the available dates work for your schedule, we will issue a refund.

What should I know about the off-grid camping experience at the campout?

Off-Grid Experience: Campout Camping is all about embracing the great outdoors! All sites are dry camping with no electricity, giving you the chance to unplug and unwind under wide open skies. We have plenty of space, so arrive early to claim your perfect spot and settle in for a weekend of true outdoor living.

Showers and bathrooms are available on-site for your comfort.

In the evenings, gather around the campfire, share stories, and enjoy the camaraderie—just please be sure to bring your own chair to kick back and relax!

If camping isn’t your style, no worries! Hotels are just a short 15-20 minute drive into Bakersfield, so you can still enjoy the campout experience while having a cozy place to stay nearby.

What meals and drinks are included with my registration?

Your registration includes delicious, ranch-style meals centered around our own ranch-raised beef, plus plenty of water, coffee, tea, and sodas to keep you refreshed throughout the weekend. If you have any food allergies, please let us know ahead of time, and we’ll do our best to accommodate within reason. You’re also welcome to bring your favorite alcoholic beverages to enjoy by the campfire!

Can I bring my dog to the campout?

Absolutely! We love having well-behaved dogs join the adventure, but for everyone's safety and comfort, they must be kept on a leash at all times. This helps ensure a stress-free experience for all campers, horses, and furry friends alike.

Do you offer gift certificates for the Campouts?

Yes! Gift certificates are available and make a perfect gift for the cowboy or cowgirl in your life. It’s a great way to give the gift of adventure, friendship, and time in the great outdoors! Please contact Sarah for more information: 661-619-2982 or email at sarah@nonpareilranch.com
